When ACTS
was established as a graduate theological center for all of
Asia, it was necessary to obtain accreditation from the government.
But it was discovered that according to the Korean educational
system no graduate school could exist without an undergraduate
institution. Consequently, the Undergraduate program was opened.
The undergraduate school is in an sense, an attached institution
of ACTS, although it is outbalancing the ACTS program itself
by virtue of its large student body and growing programs.
Although the establishment of a undergraduate school was
not in the original plans, it has become clear that the
undergraduate school can promote the original purpose of
ACTS, that is, the evangelization of Asia. The young Korean
students who are entering this undergraduate school are
expected to have this purpose as their life goal, and in
fact, they are firmly determined to devote their lives for
missionary purpose. Presently the undergraduate school offers
four major programs : Theological Studies, Mission Studies,
Mission English Studies and Christian Education Studies.
Theology
The Department of Theology interprets and teaches the Bible
based on the Gospel message of salvation by faith in Jesus
Christ alone, helps students to practice a God-centered
Christian life, and trains them to spread the Gospel to
the world as well as Korea and Asia.
Missiology
Students are equipped with the knowledge of mission strategies
through the study of evangelization in the past and present
based on evangelical theology. They are also trained to
be missionaries with a deep spirituality.
Christian Education
The Department of Christian Education helps students understand
education based on the confession of faith in the Gospel
of Jesus Christ, to plan educational programs and properly
practice it in an educational environment.
Mission English
The Mission English Department helps students grow in spiritual
maturity, Bible knowledge, and practical ministry skills
in English. It provides a solid education both in mission
and English so that students are well trained as effective
ministers of Christ in all cultures of the world.
